A journey through time, through the collection of photographs by Giannis Halatsis from Nafpaktos.
Shopping fair, patron saint Agios Dimitrios, Grimbo, Kefalovryso, Stenopazaro, zoo, amusement park, Round of Death, games with rings, shooting, big wheel, bumper cars, bumper cars, doughnuts, floccatas, escorts, pig roasts, pig roasts, cafes, nightclubs, clarinets.
In all these images, faded yet so nostalgic, depicting shocking, wonderful, moments that changed the history of the city, we are transported to 20 rare photos posted today for publication on social media by Yannis Halatsis.
He comments: “Bazaars, images and words. A few words and old photos help to mentally relive them.”
For the history we should mention that the Trade Fair of Agios Dimitrios, the well-known “Pazaria”, this top commercial, economic, social, and cultural event for the people of Nafpaktos and for the thousands of visitors from the surrounding areas has been held continuously every year since 1867 with few exceptions, such as the years of the German Occupation, the Spanish flu and the Coronavirus!
