With religious reverence, enthusiasm and the presence of thousands of residents and visitors, the Epitaphs Parade was held in the Venetian Port of Nafpaktos.
Nafpaktos is one of the top destinations in the country for the Easter days and especially on Good Friday, as a special ritual is followed.
The religious procession of the Epitaphs of the two central Parishes, the Holy Metropolitan Church of Agios Dimitrios and the Holy Church of Agia Paraskevi, accompanied by the Papacharalampio Municipal Philharmonic, ends at the Venetian Port of the city, where dozens of lighted torches have been placed on the battlements, the flaming cross stands imposing at the entrance of the Port and the atmosphere is dominated by the Hymns of the Day, performed by the Mixed Choir of Nafpaktos.
This year, the Nafpaktos Mixed Choir collaborated with the Cantelena Mixed Choir under the direction of conductor Eleni Papadopoulou-Aravantinou. The acclaimed tenor Gina Foteinopoulou was the soloist, the pianists Ilias Kaloudis and Giorgos Konis participated, while the actor Leonidas Kakouris was in the narration and recitation.
The first part featured the string quartet with Gerasimos Lolis, Alexandros Lolis, Giorgos Chlitsios and Ambrosios Vlachopoulos. Performed by Eleni Vougioukli and Susana Vougioukli.
